Discover Historic Leasburg, North Carolina led by two tour guides who know it as home. First settled in 1750, Leasburg served as Caswell County’s first county seat from 1777 to 1792. Brought to prominence during the American Revolution, Leasburg transformed over the years from the seat of county government to a morally astute Antebellum Village and vibrant center of both education and commerce. Today, it is a well preserved concentration of both Federal and Greek Revival Architecture preserved through time from lack of modern development.

Still retaining its peaceful village setting, this walking tour will allow you to explore nine historical sites including six homes, the local methodist church, the former post office and the community cemetery which features burials from the 18th century to the present including veterans of both the American Revolution and the Civil War. This will be the first opportunity for the public to explore the grounds of the first Caswell County Courthouse, see beautiful homes up-close along with many well preserved outbuildings from the 1800s.

This will be an exteriors and grounds only tour. No building interiors will be open.
