Preservation Caswell is committed to identifying and surveying endangered historic properties and facilitating their restoration and preservation. Preservation Caswell will aid and promote the creation of a Historic Preservation Ordinance, Historic Districts and the nomination of eligible properties to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Preservation Caswell is determined to encourage partnership and stewardship of our historic, cultural, and architectural resources. We will facilitate collaboration with the public, property owners and contractors to learn more about the field of historic preservation and offer workshops to those interested in restoration work. Through events, tourism and education, Preservation is committed to propagating the knowledge, appreciation and sharing of Caswell County’s history through the stories of its people, its historic properties and the material, cultural and architectural legacies that have been left behind. Part of these efforts will be the collection of oral histories and the publication of historical books, architectural studies and local tourism guidebooks. We believe this will instill pride in our local residents and facilitate and promote economic development.
